Commercial Auto Insurance is a specialized policy that protects vehicles used for business purposes. Unlike personal auto insurance, this coverage is designed to handle the higher risks and liability exposures that come with using vehicles for work.

Whether you run a small business with one delivery van or manage a fleet of trucks, this insurance is essential for protecting your business, your drivers, and your assets.

What Does It Cover?

Primary Liability Insurance

Covers bodily injury and property damage caused to others if your driver is at fault in an accident. This is required by law for all trucking operations and is the base of your trucking insurance.

Non-Trucking Liability (NTL) or Bobtail Insurance

Provides coverage when your truck is being driven without a trailer or off dispatch for personal use.

Physical Damage Coverage
  • Collision Coverage: Pays for damage to your truck caused by accidents, regardless of fault.

  • Comprehensive Coverage: Covers damage from non-collision events like theft, fire, falling objects, or vandalism.

Motor Truck Cargo Insurance

Covers the goods or cargo you're hauling in case they are damaged, lost, or stolen while in transit. This is often required by shippers and brokers.

General Liability Insurance

Covers accidents or injuries that happen during business operations outside of driving, like while loading/unloading cargo or on a client’s property.

Trailer Interchange Coverage

If you're hauling trailers that you don't own (e.g., under a trailer interchange agreement), this coverage protects the trailer while it's in your possession.

Medical Payments & Uninsured Motorist Coverage

Pays for medical expenses for you or your driver, and protects you if you're hit by a driver who has no insurance or not enough coverage.
